• About Me

Juan Monteverde practices law in New York City and has a strong background in shareholder rights. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for opposing deals involving a change in control, such as mergers or buyouts, and securing millions of dollars for shareholders. Clients are frequently stockholders who have suffered financial losses due to corporate wrongdoing or regular consumers who have fallen prey to false or overtly deceptive advertising. The team can advocate for clients and ensure businesses are held responsible at every level, from local trial and appellate courts to the U.S. Supreme Court. No one is above the law, which is his credo, captures his real character in court.

From 2010 until 2016, Juan Monteverde spent six years as a partner and the head of the department handling mergers and acquisition litigation at Faruqi & Faruqi LLP before establishing his own business. He is proud to fight for the little guys, going up against major corporations that think they are above the law.

A national law company called Faruqi & Faruqi, which specializes in class action lawsuits for consumers and investors, played several important roles in influencing Monteverde's legal knowledge. The trial team often celebrated significant successes thanks to the firm's dedication to sophisticated litigation in several important stockholder-adjacent specialties.

During his three years as an associate at Levi & Korsinsky, Monteverde represented mutual fund fraud, consumer fraud, and securities fraud victims. In other cases, the protection of shareholders' interests during corporate takeovers or changes in corporate ownership was examined, as well as ERISA breaches. Before this, he was employed at the liability defense company Smith Mazure Director Wilkins Young & Yagerman, which specialized in civil litigation. His expertise included product liability, civil rights litigation, and construction law.

Monteverde then preserved this victory by successfully arguing that the United States Supreme Court's issuance of a writ of certiorari was improperly granted. Varjabedian v. Emulex Corp., 139 S.
